AREA PRODUCTION MANAGER

GENERAL DUTIES:
Supervises all production employees, safety, scheduling assignments, line balancing, evaluation and control of build, monitoring of fulfillment of customer production and quality requirements, control of scrap and rework, efficiency, application of overtime, and documentation of these activities.  Acts as primary contact for in-house departments for production related issues in assigned area. Directly supervises the production supervisors.

  • Direct production supervisors in the plant and coordinate production work through familiarity with all manufacturing processes.  Maintain a continual awareness of safety, quality, efficiency, scrap and production schedules.
  • Motivate and direct the training of production supervisors.  Train and develop individuals, instill in them a sense of responsibility, and evaluate them on their progress.
  • Analyze and determine staffing requirements.  Study daily operating results, meet daily with subordinates, and consult with supervisors on solutions to production problems.  Ensure that problems have been corrected.  Maintain cooperation between departments.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed by all manufacturing personnel.  Inform the employees of deficiencies and violations and take corrective action, if necessary, to ensure that procedures and practices are being followed.  Assist in maintaining OSHA compliance on the plant floor.
  • Ensure correct distribution of staff and assist with training for all new or transferred employees.  Coordinate temporary staff requirements.
  • Provide all departments with support from Production personnel.
  • Authorize and evaluate the overtime requirement for Production employees.
  • Assist in mediation of personnel problems and conduct disciplinary action when required.
  • Monitor customer production requirements and coordinate schedule adjustments when required.
  • Monitor and ensure documentation of employee attendance records.
  • Perform other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering with three plus years of leadership experience and two plus years of manufacturing experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years experience in production management is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.

ASSEMBLER

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
Primarily responsible for the direct assembly of various subparts for designated air handing products manufactured and assembled at Environmental Technologies/Johnson Controls, Inc.
Assemblers are to ensure the subpart that is being assembled is the specified component called for by comparing it to the print diagram of the air handing unit being built. Assemblers are to ensure accurate and efficient operations on the assembly lines to meet production standards in a safe, sanitary and quality orientated manner. All line assembly personnel are required to attend daily safety tailgate discussions with other line employees and obey all OHSA and company safety rules and regulations along with company H.R. policies.

REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalency. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to speak, understand and communicate in English. Possess and exhibit excellent customer service skills. Ability to lift 75 pounds as needed. Must be able to pass forklift training and become OSHA qualified to drive a forklift truck. Position requires attention to detail and time management skills. Able to meet flexible work schedules to meet customer demands.

COILS PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

GENERAL DUTIES:
Assist plant superintendent by assuring that the assigned production department is operated in the most profitable and efficient basis through proper utilization of assigned manpower, materials, equipment and space.  Directly supervises Production Team members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise production team members performing production operations and must be thoroughly knowledgeable regarding the team member handbook, safety manual,  all rules, programs and   procedures that pertain to production team members.
  • Responsible for orientation and on the job training of team members in the safe, efficient operation of equipment.  Instills good housekeeping of their immediate work area in all employees so that visitors may be received in the plant at any time.
  • Evaluate probationary team members based on attendance, performance, attitude, potential, etc. Recommends candidates for hire, promotion and demotion transfer or release.
  • Responsible for maintaining manpower within the assigned department at authorized levels.  Re-assigns team members on ‘down equipment’ to eliminate unfavorable labor variances.
  • Observes production operation within their area of control to ascertain compliance with methods, quality standards, safety regulations, production standards, and efficient operation of equipment: takes corrective action to eliminate any deviation.
  • Continuously analyzes the assigned area of responsibility for improved methods of production, tool design communication and reporting, cost controls and makes recommendations to plant superintendent for disposition.
  • Consults with team members regarding on the job problems to include low production, poor quality, poor attendance, tardiness, etc.  Documents any and all problems and provides action plans to shift superintendent for disposition.
  • In case of emergency, direct team member to their assigned safe area.
  • Process all required forms in a timely manner for payroll and Human Resources (i.e. employee status form, timecards, PTO sheets, EIRP reward, etc.).
  • Contact Engineering and Maintenance for required repair work.
  • When applicable study operation where cost standards are not being met to determine causes and implement corrective action.
  • Develop among the assigned team members a consciousness of the need for teamwork to attain departmental and Johnson Controls Inc. (JCI) goals and objectives.
  • Support and carry out management philosophy and vision.
  • Attend safety and quality meetings when needed.
  • Promote plant wide teamwork and positive morale. 

REQUIREMENTS:
Associated degree and three years supervisory experience. Related experience, training, education or some combination of all three may be considered.
Manufacturing and/or industry supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, and procedure manuals. 
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs.  Ability to create visual aids for communication purposes.  PC based software knowledge must include word-processing, spreadsheet and Lotus email based systems.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

GENERAL DUTIES:
Researches, develops, designs, documents and tests electrical and electronic components, equipment, systems, and sub-systems applying the techniques of electrical, electronic and control engineering.  Provides support for the marketing, sales, application, ordering, manufacturing and service of products related to the HVAC industry, and incorporating electrical and electronic components, equipment, systems, and sub-systems.

  • Design of elements, rack, control and safety circuits for electrical resistance heat, fan coils and air handling units.
  • Review of special and non-standard electrical resistance heat, fan coils and air handling units orders
  • Support of software development for electrical resistance heat, fan coils and air handling unit order entry engines and automatic design engines.
  • Support of electrical heat and mount & wire manufacturing departments
  • Design of control circuitry to support both purchased and consignment thermostats and/or electronic controllers
  • Support electrical and controls related parts and service issues.
  • Maintenance of electrical resistance heat, fan coil and air handling unit physical and electronic engineering files
  • Design of electrical resistance heat and electrical, control and safety circuitry for new fan coils and air handling unit products.
  • Value engineering of components and circuitry for electrical resistance heat, fan coils and air handling units.
  • Other duties as determined by company management.

REQUIREMENTS:
Skill and knowledge in use of two-dimensional AutoCAD for electrical and controls drafting
Skill and knowledge in use of Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on Excel and Word
Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
Knowledge and ability to use principles, theories and practices of electrical engineering
Ability to interpret drawings, diagrams and blueprints

REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES:

ELECTRICIAN
GENERAL DUTIES & REQUIREMENTS:
Must be experience in machine control wiring and plc controls, experience in servo motor a plus! Must have experience in trouble shoot of motor control and basic electrical wiring experience! Must have 3 to 5 years experience in field. We currently have opening on 1st & 2nd shifts.
MACHINE OPERATORS
GENERAL DUTIES:
Machine operators are needed to work with punch press, brake press, CNC, and Turret machines. Prior experience required. Hiring immediately.
MAINTENANCE MILLWRIGHT "A"
GENERAL DUTIES & REQUIREMENTS:
Must have experience in mechanical as well as hydraulics' systems, some experience in pneumatics and electrical preferred. Experience working on CNC PUNCH PRESS and Brake Presses preferred. Must be able to trouble shoot. Must have 3 to 5 years experience in the maintenance field. We currently have opening on 1st & 2nd shifts.
MANAGER PRODUCTION CONTROL

GENERAL DUTIES:
This position is accountable for maintaining efficient day-to-day manufacturing production operation, and through optimum utilization of resources and facilities attain established production goals and operate economically, while at the same time maintaining quality and safety standards. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Responsible for effective planning for and review of day-to-day operations to assure meeting established production schedules economically while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Selects, trains, develops and motivates organization into a competent team to best meeting established goals and objectives.
  • Participates in negotiations of union agreement (if applicable to plant), establishing of company safety rules, policies, procedures, etc., and ensure fair and consistent administration of same.
  • Ensures optimum usage of assigned resource-personnel, equipment and facilities in the meeting of established goals and objectives of the organization.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree and three (3) to five (5) years experience in a related field. In the absence of a four (4) year degree in an appropriate field of study, formal certification and 8 years of related experience is required. Strong mechanical and analytical ability is needed as well as good communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), as well as Internet software and E-mail is required. The employee will generally be required to lift approximately 35-50 pounds and must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

MASTER SCHEDULER

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
Responsible for the planning, master scheduling and in some instances purchasing required to support the manufacturing operations of the plant. Manages the effective scheduling of production for each shop area as required. Maintains an effective schedule and communicates with Customer Service as required on issues regarding deliveries of finished goods.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Develops the daily production schedule for the plant.
2. Prepares production schedule for upcoming period and forecasted production plan for future periods.
3. Maintains specific data for all jobs on the schedule.
4. Conducts a daily production meeting reviewing the status of each job for each area reporting.
5. Receives and processes orders and monthly forecasts from Marketing /Customer Service, chiller plants and after-market. Updates related planning tools and makes adjustments to production plan as required. Communicates all new information and changes to Customer Service and Plant Management.
6. Maintains good customer service skills and communicates with customer service as required.
7. Compiles information and prepare monthly charts for Plant Manager related to on-time shipments, after-market orders and production linearity.
8. Communicates test schedules and resolves disputes.
9. Identifies the impact to an order’s costing and/or lead time for a change requested by the customer. Ensures that the plant is paid for the change.
10. Develops and maintains an effective Production Control department (if applicable to plant) administering the appropriate documents to the shop floor and other departments as required.
11. Maintains Kanban system (if applicable to plant) and adjusts, as necessary, based on production requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree and/or APICS Certification with two (2) to four (4) years experience in either Inventory Control, Purchasing or as a Master Scheduler within a manufacturing environment. In the absence of a 4-year degree in an appropriate field of study, this position requires an additional six (6) years of related experience. Previous experience in Inventory Control dispatching or shop scheduling either by forward or backward methods is required. Experience with freight carriers, specifically specialized carriers, is also required. Requirements include proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint), Internet and E-Mail. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds.

PLANT WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR

GENERAL DUTIES:
Responsible for managing, controlling, coordinating and monitoring the day to day activities in the order fulfillment, receiving, material handling, material storage and packaging areas.

  • Oversee all activities related to parts packing including pre-packing, crating and kitting. Ensure all parts are adequately packed and labeled.
  • Ensure that all stored material is organized and clearly identified.
  • Oversee Receiving/Inspection processing and coordinate the loading/movement of materials.
  • Oversee all activities related to order fulfillment including picking and delivery of parts to point of use.
  • Ensure all orders are picked, packed, shipped and updated on a daily basis.
  • Train, coach and monitor the performance of the Warehouse Associates and temporary associates. Ensure timely, fair and equitable dealing with employee issues.
  • Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the work environment.
  • Coordinate weekly cycle counting requirements with the Inventory Control department. Investigate variances in inventory that result in process and performance improvement.
  • Assist outside departments with resolving issues or potential issues that are related to warehouse.
  • Insure that adequate supplies are available for each area. 
  • Ensure that all warehouse activities are in compliance with all ISO standards and procedures.
  • Communicate continuously with all employees through the use of daily meetings as needed. Deal decisively with difficult circumstances.
  • Lead or participate in cost savings teams.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in all areas of responsibility.

REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or GED and 3-5 years of related experience. Individual must have extensive knowledge of warehouse operations and best practices. Experience with perpetual inventory system is required. Must be familiar with general accounting principles and MRP system. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.

PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - 2ND SHIFT

QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTORS - 2ND SHIFT

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
Inspect product(s) using drawings and procedures. Electrical test products.

REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma/GED. Must be able to speak and understand basic English. Must have some mechanical knowledge. Quality Control or Electrical experience preferred.

SHIPPER/FORKLIFT OPERATOR - 1ST SHIFT

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
Prepares finished goods for shipment via truck, ship and/or air carrier; loading pallets on empty trailers or shipping containers, place finished goods onto skids where they are banded and wrapped.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to speak and understand basic English. Must have basic math and calculation skills. Requires physical dexterity and the ability to use certain handtools. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

SHIPPING SUPERVISOR

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Responsible for managing outbound and inbound transportation and shipping processes efficiently and cost effectively.  Insure continuous improvement through analysis of performance and expense.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and recommend strategies that will best use the company’s transportation resources.
  • Maintain, develop and administer shipping policies and operations procedures that will produce on-time delivery, optimum customer service, effective utilization of carrier base, and effective utilization of shipping department personnel.
  • Implement process improvements and train staff, as required.
  • Participate in bids, logistics projects, and cost savings initiatives to improve and expand core carrier base.
  • Monitor and approve freight bills for payment.
  • Establish and maintain payment/audit reports for all carriers.
  • Establish and maintain transportation/shipping metrics for on time delivery measurements, carrier performance to promise, and logistics cost savings.
  • Manage modes of transportation, monitor transit times for improvement opportunity.
  • File claims and settles within carrier liability time period.
  • Manage order consolidation/cube/load planning to optimize trailer utilization.
  • Responsible for monitoring inbound transportation programs and landed costs.  Develop metrics and provide routing reporting of relevant costs.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process.
  • Effectively deploy transportation resources to achieve budgetary objectives and optimum customer service in delivery of purchased goods.

REQUIREMENTS:
Min 8-10 years transportation management experience to include rate negotiation, cost analysis, and budgetary responsibilities.  Domestic and international shipping experience required.
Working knowledge of DOT and regulatory compliance.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in an organized fashion.
Ability to make confident decisions.
Leadership, coaching and change agent skills required.
Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills required.
Computer proficiency, ERP and logistics software required.
